The Cybernetic Oracle is an experiential embodiment showcasing our relationship with virtual assistants. This installation visualises the trade-off we make when adopting these devices in our lives by means of reflecting to Greek mythology. When the user enters the room they will be greeted by the Tholos, a structure in the centre which houses the Oracle: Amazon Alexa. When the user decides to step in the Tholos their data will be sacrificed in order to receive an oracular statement by the Alexa. The data collecting will be done by several sensors: pressure sensors (to measure weight), distance sensor (to measure height) and lastly a thermal imaging sensor (to measure internal body temperature). Based on the recorded data, the user will receive a uniquely generated oracular statement.
